ESSENTIAL BIKE SHOP SERVICES TO BE MAINTAINED FOR NHS AND OTHER KEY WORKERS

BACKGROUND:

Red Kite Cycles has carefully reviewed the Government’s latest advice and guidance with regards to Covid-19 and retail shutdown (Published by DCLG 23/3/20). The Government strategy is using individual/household isolation and business closure to dramatically limit the transmission of the virus, ensuring the NHS healthcare system can cope. Equally, the government lists a small selection of shops that can continue trading if appropriate: this focuses on retailers of food, medication through pharmacies, hardware (for urgent domestic repairs) and transport services (garages and bicycle shops). Bicycle travel is an essential way for many to get to work across those demanded to work at the moment. After lengthy team discussions we are therefore offering a skeleton service for those that need us. NOTE: The shop will not be open as usual – strict health, hygiene and distancing measures will be in place to guarantee our safety and yours and to make sure that we are able to preserve a skeleton service throughout this critical time for us all. See below for service restrictions. [This page will be updated as events unfold.]
