Basic Bike Maintenance Sessions

Learn some valuable bike upkeep skills from our expert team

As experienced cyclists – and all round helpful humans – we give bike maintenance advice to our customers every day in the shop. We see it as part of our mission here at Red Kite Cycles: to get people riding and loving their bikes. That includes helping people look after their bikes so they run smoothly for years to come.

So by popular demand, we are offering a series of one-off Basic Bike Maintenance Sessions, taking place in our Shirley shop. These 90 minute sessions, run by one of the friendly and expert Red Kite team, will cover the essential knowledge you need to ensure your bike is safe and running at its best.

You’ll get the chance to learn some good bike care habits and identify the bad ones to avoid. With an eye of keeping your running costs down, we’ll show you how to spot wear and tear in order to head off costly damage repairs.

Maintenance topics covered in the session:

  • Removing your front wheel
  • Washing tips
  • How to oil a chain
  • Safety checks
  • Pumping tyres to optimum pressure
  • Puncture repair basics

  • Saturday 30th November – 9.30 am to 11.00 am
  • Wednesday 4th December – 4 pm to 5.30 pm
