This bike was designed and built as a racing audax bike. What does that mean? Basically it is a Bullfinch VX chassis with race standard kit throughout the rest of the bike. The striking matte purple is named “Hustler Purple” after the colour of Adrian’s (Red Kite owner) first ever new bike (a purple Raleigh Hustler racer from summer of 1977).
This bike is built with Whisky forks and Chris King headset, and has an 11 speed Campagnolo hydraulic groupset running Campagnolo discs. Phenomenal stopping compliments the endless go provided by the chassis and the Mavic Cosmic Carbon wheel set shod with tubeless Schwalbe Pro-One 30mm tyres. This bike redefines fast comfort with its deep section wheels and mudguards. It’s a pioneer! … but what else would you expect from a bike design and build company like Bullfinch? We have used this bike as a test mule for Campag’s new hydraulic groupsets and it is now currently being ridden with the shallower profile Mavic Ksyrium wheel set. It still goes right, that’s for sure…
