Red Kite Cycles is passionate about encouraging more women to take up cycling in all of its forms – urban commuting, leisure rides out with friends, charity challenges or mountain biking on muddy trails. One way we do this is by founding and supporting a local women’s cycling group – the Red Kite Belles on Bikes.
Founded by former Red Kite owners, Sarah and Mike Adams, the Belles are a welcoming and inclusive group who offer support and encouragement to women riders of all abilities, including those new to the sport. The group goes out all year round on Saturday morning rides (so that’s just once a week in the winter), and when the evenings are lighter once the clocks go forward, the Belles also ride out on Tuesday nights. More details and timings of the group’s rides can be found through the contact details below. And if you just want to talk to someone to know if this group is for you, please get in touch through the same contacts below – you will find a friendly and informed welcome awaiting you. Ask at the shop too, where we are also specialised in fitting women riders to bikes.
